Sarah and John Bailey lived in Scituate. She was the 'probable' daughter of Gowen White and wife, Elizabeth. The Bailey Genealogy cited below: "Bailey Genealogy, James, John, and Thomas and Their Decendants", in 3 Parts, Edited by H. R. Bailey, Somerville, MA, The Citizen Co., 1899, Part Three, "Thomas Bayley of Weymouth", Compiled by W. H. Reed, 1899, p.314 - "Thomas Of Weymouth Branch, Third Generation, #6 - John Bailey, born Weymouth (no date) indicates he was recipient of the gift of a large farm in Scituate, that he married Sarah, daughter of Gowen and Elizabeth (Ward) White, and that she was mother of all 9 of his children. There is no death date for Sarah, but he married 2d Ruth Clothier on 9 December 1699. The date of birth of his last child is not given but follow intervals of 2-3 years from 1673 to 1690. The last child, then, was probably born about 1692 or 3. John died in Scituate in 1718. I descend from 3d child, Mary, who was born in Dec 1677, married James Perry, 1 Jan 1701, and lived in Rehoboth, Bristol County, MA. The following is the result of several years of research in the White/Bailey/Perry families:

Samuel Deane, History of Scituate, MA, Boston, 1831. Family Sketches pp.382-3: "Gowen White, (Planter), a Conihasset partner in 1646." He married Elizabeth Ward of Plymouth 1638. Further in the article is mention of Sarah, who may have been his daughter, married John Bailey 1672. Deane notes that Gowen purchased the farm of William Richards who had moved to Weymouth. He further notes that there is no record of this White family, but notes that Joseph and Timothy White were his sons and heirs.

The American Genealogist (TAG), No.4, Apr 1941; Article by G. Andrews Moriarty of Ogunquit, ME entitled The Parentage of William White of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, pp. 193-206. On pp.198-9: Gowen White of Scituate. This section identifies his wife as Elizabeth Ward, both of them servants of Mr. Hatherley. Sarah is listed as a probable daughter of this couple. An Addendum to the article is Table D, which identifies sons Timothy and Joseph, their children, a daughter Elizabeth who married Thomas Pinse, Jr, 18 Sep 1662 and daughter Sarah (probably).
I find no proof that the maiden name of Elizabeth was indeed Ward. Above she has been identified of Plymouth. In a Bailey Family genealogy she is identified as the Elizabeth Ward, 38, servant who came with the family of Thomas Josselyn in the Increase of London, which arrived in July of 1635. That family settled in Hingham. It may be she was to be a servant to Mr. Hatherly and not of the Josselyn family. Mr. Hatherly made several trips to and from England, but the records show no servants accompanied him. (See C.E.
