Biography

The Picture to your right is the picture of Thomas Emanuel "Soldier" White and Lucinda "Lucy" Raines. He was the son of David Grubb White, who was the brother of Thomas Sylvester White.

According to the book, "The Family Album, Dry Fork District" by Carolyn White p42... "Allegheny Tom was the adopted Uncle of Thomas Soldier White. David was the adopted brother of Allegheny Tom. They were not blood related

Thomas White lived on Allegheny Mountain east of Job. He was a farmer and hunter. I never learned how old he was or what year he died. He was often called "Allegheny Tom". His wife was a sister of the wives of Soldier Tom, Thomas Summerfield and John Wyatt.

His sons were Archibald and Allen. Arch as we always knew him, married Emily, the eldest daughter of John Wyatt of Middle Mountain, and lived on the old home place. He was married three times, was a horse jockey and farmer. He used to be a correspondent for the Randolph Enterprise while it was printed at Beverly. I got a lot of information from him about the early settlers as he seemed to be more interested about our forefathers.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:

Yes, I understand what you are saying. I adopted a lot of the Summerfield line because they needed profile managers. Thomas White was never married to Abigail Grubb and they had no children together. I removed her as his mother. I would like to see the history you have written down that could be helpful with my lines. I work with a cousin in Florida on the Summerfield line and we have written a book together. I am open to suggestions and appreciate your comment.
Well considering his will Dated May the 3rd 1802 where he claims Abigail is is wife and David his son. I would certainly think that was proof enough.🤔

My White line is :

Thomas Joseph White Thomas Allegheny Tom Archibald Earle Henry Howard William G My grandpa Henry grew up around Arch so his version of the family comes from Arch. Abigail Grubb was NOT the biological mother of Allegheny Tom. David was born well before Thomas married Abigail. She was actually a servant of sorts before the marriage. My great aunts also had family history that they relayed to me as a child. I wrote it all down then so I am not operating from memory alone. Our genetic profiles do not include Abigail and more than one of us has been tested
