She married an Unknown Goss. Neither she nor a spouse or children are mentioned in the will of William White, so she possibly died without issue.
Death
Likely before 1789, as she is not mentioned in her father's will.
Research Notes
"Harriett" m. to Goss is not mentioned in her father's will, but Hannah Goss is mentioned in the will.
William White's will was written 11, 19, 1789, and approved 2, 25, 1794. He left his plantation to his son William, who was to pay the legacies to the following persons as was therein mentioned : His daughters, Hannah Goss, Mary Swayne, Alice Seeds, Lydia Webb, and Phebe White. Also the following grandchildren : Lydia Dilworth, Mary and Hannah Hatton, Elizabeth, William, Adam, and Phebe Mendenhall, and Ezekiel White. To his dau. Phebe he left £500, with the use of the house and certain household goods so long as she remained unmarried. [4]
The History of the Harlan Family lists "Harriett" as the youngest child of William and Elizabeth Harlan White, but does not list Hannah at all...and there is plenty of evidence that Hannah did exist and married Evan Gauss/Goss.
I suspect "Harriet" is a misprint/typesetting error in the Harlan History. It is not a name that was used among the Quakers. I do not believe Harriet existed at all. Kie Entrikin Zelms 4 May 2023.
