In memory of William White, it is believed he and his wife Elizabeth are buried at the old Lower Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery, in Union County South Carolina.

William White is the oldest known son of Robert Sr & Mildred "Milly" [Whitehead] White.

He was born in NC, at this time, it could have been Granville, or Caswell Co NC, his father was found living in Caswell District Caswell Co NC, with his father in law, William Whitehead, both families moved to old 96th district in Union and Laurens Co SC area. His father and mother were received at the Padgett's Creek Baptist church in Union Co SC 1788. William also had attended this church initially.

He married Elizabeth [Boatman] White about 1800, in Union County South Carolina. She was the daughter of Waterman & Diana [Cooper] Boatman, of Union County SC.

They had the following known children:

  1. Sarah b. 1801 never married.
  2. James b. 1803 married Nancy Browning.
  3. Jane b. 1805 married Johnson Coggin.
  4. Samuel b. 1808 married Nancy Murrell.
  5. Lucy b. 1810 married John S Barnett.
  6. Elizabeth b. 1813 married Edward Lipscomb.
  7. William b. 1815 Unknown marital status.
  8. Rachel b. 1816 married Javan Barnett.
  9. Susan b. married Wm Freeman Coggnins.

William Sr's known siblings were:

  1. Susan,
  2. Robert,
  3. Stephen,
  4. Mary,
  5. Tillman,
  6. Elizabeth,
  7. Mildred,
  8. Elias,
  9. Benjamin.

William was received at the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church on Sept 20, 1800, his wife, Nov 15, 1800.

By 1810, but before, he and Elizabeth were now members of the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church in Union County.

William and wife Elizabeth attended the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church in Union County South Carolina.

William served as a representitive at the Church Association meetings, was a Deacon.

He was the Justice of Peace in Union County.

In 1829 William sold land to his son-in-law, Johnson Coggin. William later died that year.

After Wm's death, his wife and children relocated to Spartanburg to be close to family.

His father Robt, and 2nd wife Elizabeth also moved to Spartanburg, they all attended the Cedar Springs Baptish Church initially. After Wm's wife passed away, his family seemed to scatter about the country. Some remained in Spartanburg.
