Biography

Depending on which census return is accurate, Jane White was born at some point between 1812-1820, probably in Scotland. She was the daughter of Stephen White and Jane Hamilton.

She first appears in the records in the 1841 census, living with her parents at 217 Canongate, Edinburgh.[1]
