Biography

Genealogically Defined

Hester was born in 1861[1] in Henham, Essex, England[2][3][4][5][6] and baptised on the 30th June 1861 at St. Mary the Virgin, Henham, Essex, England, the daughter of William White (labourer) and Sarah White, of Henham[7].

In 1881, Esther was a servant for widower James Cox, a farmer and licenced victualler running the large "Fleure De Lis".

Esther Jane married her employer James Cox on the 7th July 1884 at St. Mary, Widdington, Essex, England. James Cox, 55 years [sic], widower, publican of Widdington, son of James [sic] Cox (labourer) and Esther Jane White, 24, spinster of Widdington, daughter of William White (labourer). Witnessed by William White & Sarah White [8][9]

Her husband James died aged 84 years in 1903[10] at Widdington, Essex, England and was buried on the 2nd June 1903 at St. Mary the Virgin, Widdington, Essex, England[11].

Hester Jane passed away aged 72 years in 1933[12] at Widdington, Essex, England and was buried on the 26th January 1933 at St. Mary the Virgin, Widdington, Essex, England[13].
