Birth

Emily Catharine was born on 8 January 1845 in Rockdale, Randolph County, Alabama.

Marriage

She married Charles Sidney Stathem Morrison on 3 September 1863, while he was on leave from the Army of Northern Virginia, two months after the Battle of Gettysburg. A tinted photo was made of her about this time. She is seen wearing the golden jewelry no doubt passed down to her from her mother Ailsey, the daughter of her wealthy maternal grandfather, Franklin Harbour. She was also presented with a young female slave as a wedding gift.
