Alexander wrote a letter to James Madison 17 Feb 1794. The letter tells that Nelly Hite married Theodorick Lee April 1793 and Sally Hite married Alexander Pitt Buchanan of Baltimore on 14th Ulo.

The archivist notes added that Catherine (Nelly) Hite was the youngest of three daughters of John Hite of Winchester and the granddaughter of Jacob Hite (whose second wife was James Madison's aunt, Frances Madison Beale Hite). Catherine married Theodorick Lee (1766-1849), the younger brother of Henry Charles and Richard Bland Lee. Catherine's wedding was performed by Rev Alexander Balmain. Rev Balmain performed the wedding of James Madison and was also husband of James Madison's cousin Lucy Taylor.

Alexander BAlmain also presided at the wedding of Sarah (Sally) Hite, sister to Catherine. Sarah married Alexander Pitt Buchanan.

Mary (Polly) Hite was a sister of Catherine and Sarah.

Mother of the three Hite girls was named Sarah and was Alexander White's second wife.

Jefferson County Historical Society Magazine (1978) page 53 and following explains that Alexander White, a lawyer, was guardian of John Hite's children, became so by marriage to their mother.
