James Henry Clarence White allegedly was born about 1888 in Colchester, Essex, England. On the 1939 marriage record between James and Emmie Ford, née Hadfield, he stated that he was 51 years old, born in Colchester, Essex, and his parents were James Henry White, a fireman, and Mary O'Driscoll, both deceased.^[1] None of this information can be verified to date.

James married Harriett Poole in 1910 in Drummoyne, New South Wales, Australia.^[2]

James died in 1948 in North Sydney.^[3]
