DR. JOHN EDWARD WHITE, who died in Toronto in 1894, was born in Beaverton, Ont., in 1848, the son of Henry White, also born in Canada, and a civil engineer of wide reputation.
He was educated at Upper Canada College, and at the University of Toronto, graduating in medicine in 1870. He began his medical practice at Pontiac, Michigan, but remained there only a short time, after which he moved to Parry Sound for a number of years, and then to Beaverton for three years, and finally to TOronto, where he settled on Carlton street.
In 1875 the Doctor married Annie Gurnee Hewitt Wallis, born in Toronto in 1852, daughter of Thomas George Wallis and Sarah Hewitt.
John and Annie White had three sons:
John was born about 1849. He is the son of Henry White and Elizabeth Bowes.
