Confused Identity and Disputed Parentage

Richard White, son of Thomas White and Agnes Richards of Meriot and Martok, Somerset, has often been confused with his more prominent contemporary (and cousin?) Richard White, son of Thomas White and Agnes WHITE of South Warnborough, Hampshire.

Richard had a wife named Ellen or Helen, but she was not Ellen Kirton, who was the wife of the other Richard White.

Biography

"Richard White, we first find him in Hillfarrance, April 2, 1559, when he signs the will of John Dyer. He m. Ellen or Helen who was living in 1586, when her son made his will. Richard's will was made Mar. 14, proved May 6, 1578."[1]

David, you're welcome to share specific criticism of any information contained in the profile. A vague condemnation of a particular source (a source that does cite primary sources) isn't helpful. This isn't my own lineage -- I'm descended from a Robert White who is often mistakenly added to Richard's family -- so I welcome any clarification or well-sourced addition that you can contribute.

The work of Almira White is wrong across the board. This is not an acceptable source.
