Charles White was born in around 1880 and he lived his life in Lincoln, England. He was the son of William and Harriett White, likely the youngest of their many children.[1] He worked as a baker and confectioner, following his parents and brother into the confectionery business.[2][1][3][4] His father William had many bakeries and gave one of them to Charles to run.[5]
When he was one year old at the 1881 census, the family lived at 11 Cooling St in Lincoln.[1] By the 1891 census they had moved to 47 Broadgate in St Swithin.[3] At 21, Charles still lived there with his mother and sister Ann at the 1901 census.[4] By this time his father had died, but Charles and his mother were both working as confectioners and bakers.
At the time of the 1911 census, Charles, Frances, and Gertrude lived at Charles' childhood home of 47 Broadgate, Lincoln.[2]
Charles died at just 37 years on 19 October 1917, and is buried at St Swithin's Church in Lincoln,[6] the church where they were married and where Gertrude was baptised. At time of death, Charles still lived at 47 Broadgate. He left effects to William Henry White, likely his brother 'William H', and Robert Edward Partridge, perhaps his wife's brother.
