Biography

Henrietta White was born in the 1st Quarter of 1845, to Daniel and Caroline (Smith) White, at Sherborne, Dorset, England, where she was baptized on 9 March, 1845^[1][2][1].

The 1861 Census recorded Henrietta White, 16, Silk Throwster[[2]], living with her sister Jane and brother-in-law Robert Slade, Agricultural Labourer, at Newland, Sherborne, Dorset^[3].

The 1871 Census recorded Henrietta, 23, living with her father, Daniel White, 74, Mason Labourer, as Boarders in the home of George Parks, 43, Mason Labourer, at Sherborne, Dorset, England^[4]. Also in the household was George's Wife Mary, 42, and Martha Cox, 72, another Boarder.

Henrietta White married George Powell in the 1st Quarter of 1873 at Sherborne, Dorset, England^[5].

Henrietta and George Powell had no children.

At the time of the 1881 Census, Henrietta, 33, Silk Weaver, and George Powell, 42, General Labourer, were living on Long Street in Sherborne, Dorset. Living with them was Henrietta's father, Daniel White, 84, Widower, who was recorded as a Lodger in the house^[6].

Henrietta was Widowed in April, 1910.

The 1911 Census recorded Henrietta Powell, 66, Widowed, Occupation: Parish Relief and Charing, living at Sherborne, Dorset, England^[9].

Henrietta Powell, 87 (an error, she would have been 89 or 90), of Stoke Water House, died in the 1st Quarter of 1935, at Beaminster, Dorset, England, and was buried on 22 January, 1935 at Stoke Abbott, Dorset, England^[10][11].
