Avery was the infant son of William Bethel White and Louisa Ann Miller. He was born on September 26, 1895, in Lawrence County, the seventh child and fifth son of the couple.
Avery passed away early in his life, at just eight months old. He was the second of the White children to pass away and was buried in the Mount Zion Cemetery where his brother, Turner, was laid to rest.[1]
