Biography

(Elizabeth?) Ann "Biddy" Whitehead was born May 13, 1824, in Kentucky. Biddy's first husband was William Richard Chambers. "Bida Ann" and William are found on the United States Census of 1850, living in Texas county, Missouri, with four small children. Also living in the household with them are Pleasant Whitehead, Whitehead-4661 age 14 and Martha Whitehead, age 12, both born in Tennessee and probably younger siblings of 24 year old "Bida Ann" Whitehead, who was born in Kentucky. [1] Richard died sometime after the census was taken, and was buried in the Wood Cemetery, in Laclede county, Missouri. His death left her to raise her children alone.

On April 3 1856, Biddy married Abraham Munholland, who came to Laclede county from North Carolina, but may have been born in Virginia. Biddy Ann and Abraham "Monholan" are found on the United States Census of 1860, living in Gasconade Township, Lacleded county, Missouri, with three of his children from his first marriage to Nancy [2] and three children from her first marriage. After Abraham's death, on September 8, 1864, in Laclede county, Missouri, Biddy married her third husband, Moses Bean, also a widower with children.

Biddy's daughter, Sarah Jane married George Allen Simpson. Sarah Jane survived her husband, who was buried in Hunt county, Texas, and possibly returned to Missouri to be near her mother. Biddy is buried in Wood Cemetery, as is her first husband and her daughter. [3]
