Biography

John Whitehurst was born between 1645 and 1651, a son of Richard Whitehurst and Ellen Clements, both born in England. John's father was among the first settlers who lived in Lower Norfolk County, Virginia Colony, between 1631 and 1645. After Richard Whitehurst's death, Ellen Clements married Evan Williams.

John married Mary Nicholas, a daughter of Henry Nicholas, who wrote his Will on December 28, 1676. John's older brother, John Whitehurst married Mary's sister, Ellinor Nicholas.

John wrote his Will on November 16, 1691 and it was probated on March 15, 1691/92 in Norfolk county, Virginia
