Biography

Clara was born on the 30th October 1866 in Islington, Middlesex the daughter of James Peter Whitelaw and Sarah Caroline (Maton) Whitelaw.^[1][2][3]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Clara was living at 3 Manor Place, Holloway Road, Islington, Middlesex with her parents James and Sarah and her siblings Harry and Emily.^[4][5]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Clara was living at 74 Woodstock Road, Hornsey, Middlesex, England with her parents James and Sarah and her siblings Harry, Selina, Annie and Kate, and James' mother Selina.^[6][7]

1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Clara a stationer's clerk, was living at 68 Aubert Park, Islington, Middlesex with her parents James and Sarah and her siblings Emily, Selina, Annie, Kate and Charles.^[8]

Clara married Walter George Runtz and the marriage was registered in the 3rd quarter 1891 in Islington, Middlesex.^[9]

1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Clara was living at 56 Florence Road, Hornsey, Middlesex, England with her husband Walter and their daughters Clara and Sylia and an aunt Caroline Clements (81).^[10]
