Biography
Mary Whiteman was born in Riverhead, Sevenoaks, Kent, England in January 1824. She was the daughter of Edward Whiteman and Mary Edwards. She was baptized on 31st January 1824 in Sevenoaks, Kent. In 1841 she was living with her parents in Sevenoaks. Mary married Richard Ring Briggs (a linen draper) in Sevenoakes, Kent in 1845. They had 12 children. The family moved to Lambeth, London sometime after 1881 where Mary passed away in April 1886.
