Biography

Henry Whitfield was born in 1847 ^[1] in Widnes, Lancashire, England, the son of Henry Whitfield and Ellen Webb.^[2] He was baptised on 10 May 1847 in St Wilfrid's church, Farnworth near Prescot, Lancashire. ^[3]

In 1871 Henry (age about 23) was living in Warrington, Lancashire. He was a waterman. ^[2]

When Henry was 26 he married Martha Ann Yates on 19 May 1873 in St Elphins Church Warrington ^[4] The couple had at least 6 children

In 1881 Henry was living in Warrington. ^[5]
