Louise is found on the 1935 Census living outside Live Oak, Florida in her parents' home. She is 15 and in 10th grade. Her sister, Rossie Belle, is 11 and in 7th grade.

As detailed in the Biography of her father, Louise lived with her Uncle John Cannon in Live Oak when her parents divorced. This was in 1939-1940. Louise was 22 at the time and worked as a clerk at a drugstore.

Five years after, Louise was reunited with her parents, who had remarried and were living in Boynton Beach, Florida. Louise and her husband with their one-year-old daughter, Margaret, lived next door to her parents.

In time, Louise and Johnny would bring two sons into the world. In 1950, the couple suffered the tragedy of a daughter lost as a stillbirth.
