Biography
George Whitfield died in the
Universal Colliery disaster on 24-May 1901
George was born in 1850. His parents were Jonah Whitfield, a miller, and Priscilla Davis. [1]
He married Sarah Plant White in 1873. [2] They had 5 children.
George died tragically, along with 80 others, on 24 May 1901 in the Universal Colliery disaster.
He was 51 years old. [3]
