Biography
Harriett Lucy Whitfield was born 15 September 1874 in Lenoir County, North Carolina[1], most likely Burns Place.[2] She was the daughter of Nathan Bryan Whitfield and Elizabeth G. "Bettie" Cobb.[1][2] She had two brothers, William and James and three sisters, Annie, Sarah and Elizabeth "Junie".[3] It appears she lived in Lenoir County, North Carolina her entire life. She never married.
Harriet Lucy "Hattie Lou" Whitfield, age 84, died 21 September 1958 at Deaver Rest Home in Deep Run, Lenoir, North Carolina and was buried 23 September at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Cemetery, Kinston, Lenoir County, North Carolina.[1][4]
