In the memoir of Samuel, William Whiting states that Rev. Samuel Whiting was married prior to his marriage to Elizabeth, "Mr. Whiting having lost his first wife and his two sons... married Elizabeth St. John...August 6, 1629."[1] On page 55, his daughter Dorothy is mentioned as being from his first marriage.
