Biography

William Adolphus Whitley was born on 26 AUG 1887. [1]

Adolphus Whitley, 21 year old son of Green Whitley and Tishie Whitley of Almond township, married Lucy Moss, 17 year old daughter of C. R. Moss and M. P. Moss of Albemarle, on 22 Dec 1907 in Almond township, Stanly County, North Carolina. [2]

Wm Adolphus Whitley (age 39), of Concord, Cabarrus County, and Mattie F Clayton (age 32), of New London, Stanly County, were married on 9 Jan 1927 in Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. Whitley's parents were identified as Green D. Whitley and M. T. Whitley, both alive and residents of Albemarle. Mattie's parents, Gilliam Clayton and Louvine Clayton were also living and residents of New London.[3]

He died on 12 SEP 1940 in Stanly County, North Carolina. [1] He is buried in Prospect Baptist Cemetery, Albemarle, North Carolina. [4]
