CONCORD -- Mrs. Starnes, age 83, of Harrisburg, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Heritage at Town Center. She was born May 23, 1924 in Stanly County, NC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 17, at Charlotte Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Lisk officiating. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Concord, NC. She survived by her daughter, Barbara Rice and husband, Jerry of Harrisburg, NC; sister, Virginia Burris of Locust, NC; a grand daughter, Lisa Forcier and husband, Marty, and two great grandchildren, Austin and Kari Forcier all of Harrisburg, NC. She was preceded in death by husband, Realus Ira Starnes, father, Liston Odell Whitley, Sr., mother, Gertrude (Pressley) Whitley, and brother, Liston O. Whitley, Jr., and Harold Whitley.
