Biography
Mr. Robert Whitley, 83, died Monday afternoon (January 22, 2007) at Waycross Health and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Nicholls before moving to Waycross seven years ago.
He was a son to the late Charlie Whitley and Gladys Thomas Whitley. He was married to the late Lois Musgrove Whitley and was preceded in death by his son, Robert Whitley, Jr.
The survivors include two brothers, Oscar B. Whitley (wife Hazel) and Edward Whitley (wife Betty) both of Douglas; two sisters, Myrtice Thomas of Nicholls and Mary Brigman (husband Quitman) of Fort Valley, GA; two sisters-in-law, Edna Musgrove of Blackshear and Jennell McQuaig of Waycross; a brother-in-law, Virgil Musgrove of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (January 24, 2007) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Green Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 O clock
