Thomas was baptised at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 3rd October 1819. [1] He was the son of Joseph Whitly and Ann Field and father Joseph gave his occupation on the register as labourer.
Marriage
Thomas Whitley and Emma Woods were married at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 23rd December 1845.[2] Thomas was of full age, a bachelor living in Hanborough and working as a labourer. His father was Joseph, also a labourer. Emma was a spinster of full age, living in Wootton and working as a gloveress. Her father was George who was a labourer. Neither Thomas nor Emma could write so they both made their mark on the register as a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were James Franklin and Ann Woodward. [3]
