William was baptised at St Michael's, Oxford, Oxfordshire on 11th January 1835.[1] He was the son of William Whitley and Sophia Adams. His father stated on the register that he was an ostler and that the family were living in St Michael's at the time.
William died in Oxford when he was 2 years old.[2]
