Biography
Emily Whitman was the daughter of John and Jane Whitman. She was baptised at Westminster October 26 1798 She married Samuel at St Peter & St Paul, Mitcham, Surrey, signing her name with an x. During their marriage Eliza had 8 children but only 4 survived into adulthood. In the 1850's Eliza took on work as a laundress probably to supplement the family income.
