Biography

Hester A. Whitmire, according to the 1870 Census, was born 1863–1864, Centre Township. She married Writer Keen, of Nescopeck, and had two sons by him. She passed away a young mother shortly after the birth of her second child and was buried beside Mt. Zion Church at Briggsville, Nescopeck.

Her husband remarried to Amanda Eastlove some years later and removed to Malden, Massachusetts, where the descendants from her surviving son Ray now live.

Notes

According to a Granddaughter of Ray Keen,who is a son of Writer and Hester, Ray lists his mothers name as Whitmire on his marriage license.
