Biography

Ann was born about 1618 (based on a deposition by "Ann Faro, wife of Georg Faro, aged about forty years," which Ann swore in Ipswich court on September 29, 1658,[1]), probably in England.

She was married to George Farrar on February 16, 1644.[2][3]

Resarch Notes

Disputed Father Ann is sometimes shown as the daughter of John Whitmore of Wethersfield and Stamford. This seems to be based purely on their last name, and is not supported by evidence. The connection was severed in April 2023. For a full discussion see: Mary (Whitmore) Brewer (abt.1626-1684)

Possible Siblings It is highly likely that Ann was a sister or at least related to Mary (Whitmore) Brewer (abt.1626-1684) who married John Brewer in Ipswich in 1647. She could possibly be related to Francis Whitmore (aft.1623-1685) of Cambridge. In the extended family of Francis' likely English origins, there are other Whitmore/Farrow marriages.

Possible baptism: There is a baptism for an Ann Whitmore, daughter of John 30 Jul 1611 in Albury, Surrey, England.[4] Two problems: 1) the identification partially relies on her father being John, for which there isn't any evidence and 2) there is a 7-year discrepancy with her stated age in her deposition.

As commented below, there is a lack of evidence connecting Anne to John Whitmore of Wethersfield/Stamford. I've proposed severing the connection in this g2g: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1566055/questionable-children-whitmore-wethersfield-disconnected

If you have any concerns, your comments are welcome!

Per comments in John Whitmore's profile, Ann was probably not John's daughter. There is no reason to believe that the 1611 bpt record relates to Ann and it is inconsistent with her age of about 40 that she swore to in 1618.

Anne Whitmore did not marry William and Samuel. She did not have Allen or Hulbert Children. There are many duplicates of Anne. This is the only one attached to the right husband and children. I propose to remove the incorrect husbands and children and change her bio to be Ann Whitmore wife of George Farrar only. Objections??

Per notes and the biography, it looks like an incorrect mother is attached. Johanna Kerrich would have only been 7 years old when Ann was born.

Whitmore-1138 and Whitmore-204 appear to represent the same person because: Clear Duplicate Need merged

Will be updating, sourcing and clicking indicators for both before hand.
