Biography
Daughter of Eli Whitmore and Alice Fetterolff.
Dorcas had a twin brother, Dee. She was nicknamed Dot in 1900.
The 1895 Kansas State Census for Sumner County shows Eli age 48, wife Alice age 40; children E Whitmore (male) age 14; L Whitmore (female) age 11; E Whitmore (female) age 9; (No first name, female) Whitmore age 6; D Whitmore (male) age 6.[1]
In 1900 Eli was age 54, living in Jackson Township, Sumner, Kansas. He was b in New York, June 1846. Wife Olive was age 44 b Pennsylvania. Daughter Lila was age 17 b Kansas. Daughter Clara was age 15 b Kansas. Son Dee was age 12 and daughter Dot was age 12 (these last were twins b Nov 1888).[2]
She married Floyd Smalley.
In 1920 Dorcas was married and in Canyon County, Idaho. She was age 32. Husband Floyd Smalley was age 34 b Colorado. Father Eli Whitmore was age 72 b NY. Mother Alice Whitmore was age 65 b Pa. Floyd and Dorcas had children: Audrey age 3 b California and Joice age 1 b Idaho.[3]
In 1940 Dorcas and Floyd were living with Floyd's parents in Ukiah, Mendocino, California. Their last place of residence had been Stockton. Their son Robert Smalley was age 19.[4]
Dorcas and Floyd were rooming in Sacramento in 1950.[5]
