According to all of my resources and those of the years of Whitney Generations and the research completed by Pierce and RL Ward and other scholars, he is now connected to correct parentage-his page http://wiki.whitneygen.org/wrg/index.php/Family:Whitney,_Samuel_(1687-1753) and here is John and Elizabeth Smith and children http://whitneygen.org/wrg/index.php/Family:Whitney,_John_(b1645-b1720)

That is because when I adopted this profile, I didn't realize that his parents were incorrect.

Whitney-566 has the same life dates and places as Whitney-264, but the two profiles have different parents. Methinks that two (or more?) different Samuel Whitneys have been conflated.
