Richard Merrill Whitney, Sr[1][2] was born 25 September 1935[1][2] in Clearwater, Kansas[1][2] to Paul Whitney[1] and Wava (Whitesell) Whitney[1].

Richard appears in the 1940 census[3] with his parents and siblings.

He passed away 29 January 2013[2] in Vero Beach, Florida[2] and was buried in Our Savior Lutheran Memorial Garden Columbarium, Vero Beach, Florida[2].
