Elizabeth was born in 1804. She is the daughter of Ephraim Whitney and Sarah Noyes. She passed away in 1889. She is buried with her husband Abner Hill in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada,

"Betsy Whitney, b. 27 Oct 1804, Jonesboro, ME; d. Feb 1889; m. ca. 1825, Abner Hill, Jr., son of Abner and Mary6 (Whitney) Hill, b. 8 Nov 1798, St. Stephens, NB, d. Feb 1872. They had six children." ^[1]

In the 1871 Canada Census, merchant Abner Hill, 72, born N.B., was living in St. Stephen Parish, N.B. with Elizabeth, 66, born U.S.; and lumberman Wesley, 42, born N.B.; teacher Margaret Campbell, 40, born N.B.; servant Melisa Young, 31, born N.B.; and servant James Robinson, 35, born Ireland. They lived next to George and Jane Hill.

In the 1851 N.B. Census, lumberer Abner Hill, 51, born N.B., was living in St. Stephen Parish with Elizabeth, 46; millman Murow, 28; millman Wesley, 22; millman Horatio, 20; Phoeba A., 18; Margarett, 21; George A., 12; and Fredetrick, 12, all native born.
