Isaac Ellis Whitsett was born in ~1804 in Montgomery county, Kentucky, United States. His father is unknown and Rebecca (Stewart) Whitsett (~1778 - 1825) was his mother. His surname is Whitsett only because his divorced mother still had that as her last name.
In 1803 Joseph Whitsett, husband of Rebecca) placed an article in the Lexington Gazette informing the public he had separated from his wife. Two Whitsett brothers this Isaac and Stewart Whitsett where born to Rebecca Stewart after 1803. DNA tests have directly indicated that Stewart is not biologically the descendant of Joseph Whitsett. It is possible but not confirmed that Isaac is also not biologically descendant of Joseph either.
Isaac married Cynthia Noland (1804 - ) on April 12, 1826 in Madison, Kentucky. [1]
Isaac died on November 20, 1882 in Lafayette county, Missouri aged ~78.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Isaac by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Isaac:
Rebecca and Joseph separated in 1803. She Mary Polly and left the three older boys with Joseph. He apprenticed out the two oldest to his own father, Samuel.
Rebecca raised Mary Polly, Isaac Ellis, and Stewart Whitsett. Their names appear on her will in 1825.
My ancestor, Stewart, was found by two of his descendants (DNA evidence) not to be descended from Joseph. I do not know of any of Isaac Ellis's descendants having been tested.
Joseph bore and named another son, Isaac Newell, with his second wife, Mary Polly Langston.
I know of no one who has any idea of the father(s) of Isaac and Stewart, or even if they were the same man.
