Biography

Birth date based on age in Estate Papers of Middleton Whitt. He lived in Attalla, AL in 1924, so he would have passed away after that date. Death record states deceased on Aug 25, 1964 at the age of 69. He was married to Ola (maiden name unknown).

In 1910 Oscar was 15, single, and living at home. He worked as a weaver in the cotton mill.

Oscar Lee Whitt , Private Headquarters Demob Center, Attalla, AL, served in the army from 2/26/18 - 6/3/1919. According to his military index card he was born on 2/5/1895 and died 8/25/1964. He served overseas from June 15, 1918 - May 20, 1919 and was discharged June 33, 1919.

In 1920 Census Oscar is 24 and living with his brother, Mid F. Whitt 28. Mid's wife was Vernie 30, daughters Littliemay 6 and Mildred 3.

In the 1930 census Oscar is 34 and married when he was 30. His wife, Ola, was 29 and married when she was 25. They do not list any children even though they have been married for 4 years.

Still no children listed for Oscar 45 and Ola 39 on the 1940 census.
