I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Greg, Mark, Paul; Missy & Shannon. Mark passed in 2007.[2]
I married Richard Stubley Lindsay on July 26, 1980 in Morristown, Hamblen, Tennessee.[3] We have two sons: Robinson Tate Lindsay & Jonathan Houghton Lindsay.[4]
We mutually ended the marriage in 1999. While married, I was a stay-at-home mom to be there for my sons when they needed me. Not to mention, I did not want someone else telling my sons things I did not approve. I kept a clean & tidy home. I learned to bake, volunteered for school, the church, even the Junior League of Knoxville. I exercised to stay healthy and energetic. I learned to herb garden, making herbal vinegars, and wreaths to give as gifts. After I divorced, I went back to school to get an AA in Paralegal Studies. I graduated Magna Cumma Laude. I was very proud of myself. I didn't do so well with the BA. But, I did graduate, and now I have two college degrees. In late 2004, I went to work as a caregiver to a woman who suffered a massive stroke. I did not want to do this, but they really wanted me to work with her & rewarded me by the salary I was paid. In 2008. I worked for the University of Tennessee as an Administrative Assisstant for four (4) years at which time I had to resign due to an injury I sustained in 2011 that took forever to heal. I had to have major surgery for a torn ligament in my left hip joint. It was an ordeal to recover from. I could not return to work as I was a liability driving on the road. I wasn't healed. I couldn't walk, I couldn't sit-up. Worse time in my life, but the silver lining was, I had lots of time to create a black and gold thread ten band hand-embroidered Sampler, that is a masterpiece! It took me a year to do it working on it everyday. But, I have an orginial piece of Blackwork hand-embroidered stitchery with gold thread that no one else in the world has! In 2013, I wanted to work again, partime, and I was hired as a medical secretary for a psychiatrist. I loved that job, but the owner had to have major surgery and closed the business. Since my injury limited everything I did, I attained disability. I had to learn how to do things all over again. I could not bend without pain. I could not walk more than 1/2 mile. (Still can't, but I try.) I was always in pain until I decided to try physical therapy. They worked patiently with me, and for the first time since 2010, I was out of pain. I am still limited to what I do. I can only dust the floors and furniture once a month. Twisting & turning is very bad for me. Every now and then, I will sew a friend an apron. I hand embroidered during the 1990's and have over forty (40) samplers. I never married after my divorce. I dated, but the longer I was single, the more I loved my freedom. I cannot garden the way I used to, but I do grow my favorite herbs: Rosemary, lavendar, oregano, sage, cilantro, and common wormwood. I am glad I found genealogy to do because I was running out of ideas to keep me busy. I have learned alot about all my family, and I am amazed at their steadfastness to survive. I am very proud of my hertiage. Others in my family are doing genealogies, but their work has not taken them to our ancestors like Wikitree has for me. I am so blessed to have descended from hardworking and dedicated Patriots. It seems as most of my relatives are from Virginia. I wanted to live there long ago. So, working on the Virginia Project is just perfect for me. [5]

We have two google groups - one for discussion (https://groups.google.com/g/wtvirginiadiscuss) and one for managed profiles (https://groups.google.com/g/wtvirginia). Send a join request if you'd like to join either or both (include your WikiTree ID so we know it's you).
When you get a chance, please add your info on the Virginia Team page (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Virginia_Team). If you haven't already looked it over, Virginia Project (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Virginia) is the main project page and has lots more information.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
I’m going to suggest that the Virginia might fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Please take your time. Accuracy is so much more important than speed on WikiTree. And please add locations, dates, and at least one reliable source to each profile, particularly any pre-1700s profile, before you leave it. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Thank you for upgrading. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are fairly new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources and ask questions. Check here for tips.
Have fun collaborating on your ancestors
