Biography

Richard was born about 1797 to Archibald Whitt and Hannah Low. ^{[citation needed]}

On October 23rd, 1812 he married Levisa Adkins. ^[1] They had the following children: ^[2]

• Elizabeth Whitt, born in April 1877, died after June 1900.
• Richard Whitt, Jr., born in March 1820, died after June 1900.
• Sarah Whitt
• Mary Ann Whitt, born on 8 March 1826, died on 15 Jul 1908.

• Meredith Whitt
• Amanda Susannah Whitt
• Clarissa Whitt
• Queen Lavisa Whitt

Richard passed away before November 25th, 1864 when a deed appears from Levisa (Lavica) Whitt to Meredith Whitt "...all rights to a farm where she now lives, it being the residence of Richard Whitt Sr. dec. [deceased]" ^[2][3] This is also confirmed by the 1870 US Census which shows his wife living in the home of their son Meredith. ^[4]
