Hello Trisha, I don't think I've ever told you how much I love this photo of you!!! Also, 'Happy New Year'. This is to let you know that this last year I've been 'knee-deep' working early New England ancestor profiles but if there are any profiles closer to our life's time frame, say 19th c., that you'd like me to work because you don't have the time please give me 'a shout'. I'm happy to help. Leigh Anne
It would appear that we are 5th cousins via our mutual 4th great grandparents, Benjamin Tranter (b. 18 Feb 1812) and Elizabeth Williams (b. 6 May 1812)!
I am descended from Joseph Tranter's brother, Henry Tranter (b. 13 Mar 1850 in Staffordshire, England).
I only just joined WikiTree on the 25 Nov 2017, but have had an account with Ancestry.com for several years where I have uploaded lots of old photographs of the Tranter family and have a much more extensive tree online.
I am happy to share any other information with you that I may have. Its always great to discover yet another "cousin. :-)
We've made a change in how the tutorials are sent to new members. Instead of weekly messages you can now work at your own pace, so this is the last message.
How is it going so far? Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles.
It looks like Puritan Great Migration would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Changing your tag to Puritan_Great_Migration will help you get updates about activity for that project.
Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Do you have some historically-significant ancestors? Look at the list of active projects to see if one fits your needs.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
This week, we'd like to show you How to Join in the Community. There's no shortage of opportunities to get involved through social media, G2G forum, and projects.
Be sure to check out the One Name Studies Project to see if anyone has started a project for one of the surnames in your family. Don't see one? Follow the instructions for starting your own!
You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.
Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Edit a Profile.
If the link doesn't work in your email, you can find it in the public comments on your profile page. Please let one of us know if you have questions! Just click the name above any comment, then ask in the comment section of that volunteer's page
Thanks for volunteering, Trisha! As a full member of the WikiTree community, you can now add family profiles. Signing the Honor Code will allow you to work on other profiles, too.
Since WikiTree is different from other sites, we have a guided tour to help members learn their way around. The first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
I'm happy to answer questions. Tomorrow, another mentor will check by to see if you need help, and we'll post weekly messages after that.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code is our guide to keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.
The initial email from us has links to get you started. Your tags will help you keep up with new information on surnames, locations, concepts, etc., and help you find other WikiTreers with the same interests.
I'll confirm your membership in a few minutes, and then you'll be on your way!
