Joel Whittemore was born on February 13, 1814 in Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States, son of James Whittemore and Phebe May. ^[1]

Joel (24) and Ann Maria Eames (18) were married on July 19, 1838 in Holliston, Massachusetts. ^{[2] [3]}

Ann was born on February 20, 1820 in Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

They had 1 son, Edward F. Whittemore, b. 1838, d. 1866.^[4]

Ann died in 1843.

Joel and Jerusha Eames were married Sept. 18, 1844 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. ^[4]

Jerusha was born in 1822 in Ashland, Middlesex County, Massachusetts..

Their children were born in Ashland except the first one born in Hopkinton: ^[4]
