Charles Alexander Whittemore was born at Cambridge 24 Jan. 1864, third son of Benjamin, born 8 June 1838, and grandson of Thomas and Lovice (Corbett) Whittemore. His mother, Martha Ellen Dickinson, born 30 Apr. 1840, is the daughter of Alexander Dickinson and Hope (Kemp) Dickinson. Charles graduated from Harard, A.B., 1885, and became a lawyer.
On December 11, 1888, at Cambridge, Massachusetts, Charles married Evelyn Cutting Bullard, born at Cambridge 16 Jan. 1866, daughter of John Cutting Bullard and Martha Maria (Hobbs) Bullard.
