Laura (Whittemore) Gilman was born on Nov. 8, 1814 in Fitzwilliam, Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States, daughter of John Whittemore and Hannah (Stone) Whittemore. ^{[1] [2]}

Laura married Morrill Gilman in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire on Nov. 15, 1832. ^[3]

• remove 9th child from childlist, Laura Whittemore Gilman (1854-1867) is not a child in the John Gilman family of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire. Note the child is not with the family in the 1860 census and that her supposed mother had died by 1852.
