Biography

Florence's parents Almeda Atkinson and Thomas Whitten were married in 1858, Thomas was killed in the civil war in 1864 at the age of 25. Florence and her Sister Mary were living with their Grandfather Cyrus Atkinson in Trimbelle, Pierce Wisconsin in 1850's census, without Almeda. I haven't determined what happen to Almeda. I am to believe Almeda may have died before Thomas volunteered enlistment on December 14th, 1863 because he claimed to be single. In 1864 the pension of Thomas L Whitten is granted to Cyrus Atkinson as beneficiary.
