Biography
Temperance Elizabeth (TE) Whittinghill was born on 6 Dec 1845 in Patoka, Indiana to parents William Whittinghill and Amanda Jane Roberts.
She married Andrew Byrum Spradley Jr. on 14 Nov 1861 at age 15 in Warrick, Indiana.
Children: Amanda Belle, James B, Margaretta (Maggie) A, Hannah L, Michael (Mike) B, Nettie Jane, John William, Andrew (Andy) Bonaparte, Infant Son, Noble (NE) Earl.
The family moved from Indiana to Kansas in 1879. Her husband Andrew died in 1887.
In April 1907 she moved from Kansas to Anacortes, Washington with her son Andrew and his family by train. She also lived with her oldest daughter Amanda Belle and her husband in Washington. In 1909 she moved to Patterson, Modesto, California where she ran a boarding house.
She died on 8 Jan 1920 in Modesto. Her son Andrew was with her when she died. She was buried in the Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes, Washington.
