Thomas was born in 1828 in Cropwell Butler Nottinghamshire. According to his later marriage record to Elizabeth Lowe Thomas' father was John Widdowson (a cordwainer). .[1] [2]


In the 1841 census Thomas (age 13) was living in his parents household in Cropwell Butler, Nottinghamshire, England.[3]

In the 1861 census Thos (age 33) was the head of household in Snenton, Nottinghamshire, England.[4]

Widdowson-1334 and Widdowson-1184 appear to represent the same person because: Both are profiles for Thomas Widdowson born in 1828 or 29 in Cropwell Butler. The Thomas Widdowson who married Elizabeth Lowe has a marriage record stating that his father was John Widdowson, a Cordwainer (shoe maker) and the other profile links to the 1841 census for Cropwell Butler where Thomas is living with his father John, a shoe maker. Therefore clearly the same individual.
