Biography

George Wiegand, father of Mrs. Henrietta L. (Wiegand) Hoch, was born near Saxony, Germany, November 23, 1835, son of Daniel and Eva (Jacoby) Wiegand, who in 1853 emigrated to this country and settled near Sarver Station, Butler county, Pennsylvania, on a farm, and there his death occurred shortly prior to the Civil War, his wife passing away in 1878, and they were the parents of three children : Conrad, Valentine, George.
