Kay was born in northwest Iowa in 1948. She has a large family consisting of six brothers and two sisters. She is the granddaughter of Alice and Oscar Knudson, also from northwest Iowa, and is interested in researching their family tree. Oscar Knudson came from a very large family including brothers: Christ, Thomas, Carl, Herbert, and Elmer. His sisters included Annie, Carrie, Johanna, Ida, and Emma. I believe Oscar's father's name was Kristian and his mother's name was Ingeborg (Ostrus).

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Michelle ~ WikiTree Mentor

Hi Kay, Thanks for your note! Welcome aboard!

Looks like you have been confirmed; you should be able to add your parents and siblings now.

To find out if we have some of your ancestors, Just go to the top of your page by the WikiTree logo and fill in the search bars next to the magnifying glass icon. You will be surprised how many people we have with that surname!!

If your not sure how to use WikiTree check out this page: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/How_to_use_WikiTree

Also a YouTube video going step by step that may help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFFv2jhzXxA

Kay ---

Hello and welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to become a member of WikiTree. Just add a Tag for each family name or place you are researching. Then click the “Post Tags and Volunteer” button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

WikiTree is an exciting and growing community and we are really glad you decided to join us.
