Emma Hobart, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. She was born April 25, 1929, in Aiken, Minn., the daughter of Lyle and Mildred (Woodcock) Wiggins. On September 13, 1947, she married Carl Hobart in Davenport. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and bird watching, and was an avid reader. Most of all she cherished her family. For over 30 years, she prepared homemade chocolate donuts for family and friends at Sunday morning gatherings. She was "Grandma" to every child she met. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband, Carl; children and spouses, Glenn Hobart, Susanne and Charles Leslein, and Scott and Rebecca Hobart, all of Davenport; grandchildren, Amy, Chad, Cody, Jenifer, Carl (C.J.), Craig, Cara and Cori; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Nicholas, Zachary, and Lucas; and brothers and sisters, Lyle Wiggins, Ardis Maki, Mike Wiggins, Patricia Gould, Betty Chudy, Evelyn Nutter, Shirley Saari and Carol Larson. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Wiggins.
