Joseph was baptised at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 12th February 1832.[1] He was the son of Charles Wiggins and Elizabeth Clements. His father gave his occupation at the baptism as labourer.
Marriage
Joseph Wiggins and Hannah Bishop were married at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 28th October 1854.[2] They were bachelor and spinster, both of full age and of the parish. Joseph was a labourer and the son of Charles Wiggins who was also a labourer. Hannah was a gloveress and stated on the register only that her father was deceased. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were James Trinder and Ellen Wiggins.[3]
